The imposing building
The imposing building is discovered at the end of a charming tree-lined path. Between the leaves,
in the heart of a magnificent four-hectare park, the castle has retained all the spirit of the medieval fortress of yesteryear. A former Hospitaller commandery, the residence was built in 12th century. One of the lords of the place, Guillaume de Plaigne, was one of the architects of the massacre of the Inquisitors in Avignonet in 1242.
This is a splendid estate to visit with the owner of the place, Rebecca Gregory, who on request will also show you her sculpture artist’s workshop.
