Villasavary-Besplas, the Crossroads of Itineraries

This former fortified village under the Viscount of Carcassonne opposite the lands of the Count of Toulouse and the mighty Lords of Laurac was merged with the hamlet of Besplas. The site of the first village community of ancient origin may have been affiliated with the seigneury of Laurac. On the flanks of this windy mound, one can also observe more closely the mill known as the Glacière, whose mechanism can be discovered thanks to a system of QR Codes deployed throughout the village.

The Hamlet of Besplas

There is a Romanesque chapel that can be visited on request from the town hall, and whose interior decorations can be discovered on your smartphone thanks to a QR Codes device. A comprehensive system relates the links between the village of Laurac and the chapel outside. On the heights, at the current location of a very active recreational centre, the first farm school in France was built, in the 19th century.
